  The process that occurs is known as an Exothermic Reaction. The Activator Button turns the sodium molecules into a solid state (freezing them). This ignites a chain reaction in the Sodium Acetate solution, crystallizing the solution to 130º F or 54º C. This process is also fun to watch, inspiring the inner scientist in all of us!
